The Delhi Capitals have announced Jemimah Rodrigues as captain for the Women's Premier League 2026 season. Jemimah, who has been part of the Delhi Capitals squad since the inaugural season of the league, succeeds at a time when the franchise has finished as runners-up three successive seasons.

Since then, she has played 27 WPL games, having scored 507 runs at a strike rate of 139.67. She has played in all three WPL finals thus far and has been a constant presence in the teams' batting unit, with her contributions often proving priceless in the pressure moments.

The 23-year-old Jemimah has had a decent year at the international level. She played a big part in India's recent ICC Women's World Cup campaign, including an unbeaten hundred in the semifinal against Australia.

Jemimah has represented India in 113 T20 Internationals, scoring 2,444 runs, inclusive of 14 half-centuries while scoring 1,749 runs for India in 59 One-Day Internationals, including three hundreds.
