Tata WPL 2023: Captain Harmanpreet 53, leads Mumbai to win by 8 wickets against UP Warriorz

The Tata WPL 2023 UP Warriorz vs Mumbai Indians: The women in blue have paved their way to becoming the winners of the initial tournament Tata Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023. Harmanpreet Kaur-led team Mumbai Indians have secured 8 points after becoming the winner of all four matches they have played so far. Team Mumbai Indians competed with UP Warriorz at the Brabourne Stadium, CCI, and followed its set of victories. MI won the match with 8 wickets against UPW on Sunday 12 March.
After UP Warriorz won the toss, they elected to bat first against Mumbai Indians. They scored 159 runs losing 6 wickets where captain Alyssa Healy scored 58 runs out of 46 balls and Tahila McGarth scored 50 runs off 37. The players of UPW were successfully chased by the purple queen of the Mumbai team, Saika Ishaque with 3 wickets. Additionally, Amelia Kerr and Hayley Matthews grabbed 2 and 1 wickets respectively. In the second innings opener, Yastika Bhatia from MI gave 42 runs off 27 balls, Nat Sciver-Brunt hit 45* out of 31 balls and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur led the team with the highest score of 53 runs not out in just 33 balls. Captain Harmanpreet became the ‘Player of the Match’ in UP Warriorz vs Mumbai Indians.
