Singer India, a company with a 170-year legacy and a leading manufacturer of sewing machines and home appliances, is celebrating International Women's Day by honoring its women workforce with its latest initiative #SingerByMySide. The campaign which started with the teasers along with a series of posts, has put focus on its women workforce who talk about what it means to be a part of a company like Singer.
#SingerByMySide is a testament to a strong work culture that has supported its women workforce by giving them a voice, flexibility, and a sense of stability. At the same time, the company went through its evolution over a 4-decade period.
Singer India today is at a very interesting phase where it's investing in talent and bringing in new people while putting in fresh thinking and creativity across its social media platforms as recently seen in one of its latest global best-seller launches of M3330 Zig Zag sewing machine.
#SingerByMySide focuses on some of its longstanding team members who have been in the company for over 3 decades like Alpana Sarna and Manisha Jariwala. Singer India’s commitment to empowering women extends beyond internal initiatives through their 400 sewing skill centers which have trained and empowered over 20,000 students in India.
Alpana Sarna, HR & CSR Head, who has been associated with the organization for over three decades, shares her views on the campaign, "Joining Singer straight out of college, I have never looked back. Having traversed through various leadership roles, Singer is more than just a workplace to me; it's a closely-knit family where everyone is genuinely valued, for me Singer is Family.”
Among the recent additions are Shalini Gupta, Upasana Jha, and Rupinder Kaur, who have taken up leadership roles and are contributing to the organization's growth.
Shalini Gupta, Marketing & Comms Head, added, "At Singer, our culture cherishes the depth of experience, amplifies diverse voices, and celebrates exceptional performance. I am honored to be a part of the journey towards equality and empowerment.”
Rakesh Khanna, Vice Chairman & MD of Singer India, added, " We value the skills and contributions each individual brings to the table, irrespective of gender. We are committed to ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive and succeed. In our organization, talent and dedication are the only metrics that matter, creating a level playing field where employees can reach their full potential."
