- Shiseido India has initiated a women health initiative on International Women’s Day
- The initiative targets women in the Kamathipura area of Mumbai
- It forms part of Camellia Day, a Shiseido Group global initiative
To mark International Women’s Day, Shiseido India launched its women’s health initiative in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Mumbai Coastline, focusing on the women in the area of Kamathipura in Mumbai.
The women’s health initiative is part of the company’s global social program known as the ‘Camellia Day’ and aims at promoting the company’s commitment to ‘upholding the dignity and health of women in the communities they serve.’
The women’s health initiative in the area of Kamathipura targets almost 300 women and has taken a holistic approach in its program by providing education on menstrual health and the provision of menstrual cups. It has also placed much focus on the provision of nutritional education.
With the help of the volunteers from the Rotary Club and medical practitioners, the women’s health initiative has provided education on the health and well-being of women through the provision of health education sessions on menstrual hygiene and other aspects of health and well-being.
A very important part of the women’s health initiative is the provision of menstrual cups. The menstrual cups are known for providing a much longer-lasting product and are known for lasting up to ten years.
Participants will also receive culturally appropriate healthy meals, along with a satisfactory method of well-being.
Kavit Sethi, President of the Rotary Club of Mumbai Coastline, states, “The real impact that a community can have taken place once basic needs are met with concern and positive action. With the knowledge and sustainable solutions surrounding menstrual hygiene, the initiatives we have developed allow women to become healthier and more confident members of society, while improving the condition of our communities.”
With this initiative, Shiseido India continues to show its goal of empowering women and developing inclusive communities and the contribution towards the wider global goals of health and dignity and gender equality among other goals.
