  • DBS Bank India has launched the latest report in its ‘Women & Finance’ series
  • The report has been developed in collaboration with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP (DTTI LLP) as the research partner

DBS Bank India recently unveiled its newest report in the Women & Finance series, which was created in conjunction with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP (DTTI LLP), and is based on the results of their research with 1342 women from all regions of India (North, South, East and West).

The three groups represented in the study included female entrepreneurs, High Net Worth (HNW) women and rural women earners.

The report builds on DBS Bank India’s previous Women and Finance study, which was initiated in 2024; however, it offers additional insights into the financial decision-making, goals and behaviors of women.

The report found that women are increasingly taking charge of their own financial decision-making processes, as 69 percent of female entrepreneurs consider themselves primary finance decision-makers compared to 60 percent of rural women earners and 58 percent of HNW women.

The report indicated that for women in urban settings, particularly female entrepreneurs and HNW women, establishing global connections with their banking partners is a high priority; therefore, many women place significant value on the size of a bank's global network when selecting a banking partner.

For female entrepreneurs, 44 percent value peer advisory and networking opportunities and 40% seek out sector-specific mentoring; 33 percent look for opportunities to connect with investors.

In regard to financial confidence, 76 percent of rural women earners expressed confidence in their ability to manage their finances; in contrast, 67 percent of HNW women and 58 percent of female entrepreneurs indicated that they are confident managing their finances.
