The 76th Republic Day celebrations were carried out with great fanfare at Kartavya Path on Sunday morning.

This year’s celebrations laid great emphasis on highlighting women’s empowerment. Various women focused tableaux and contingents shed light on India’s various initiatives towards empowering women and children in the country.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development highlighted the theme ‘Motherhood, Life Cycle Continuum Approach, and Women-Led Development’ through its tableau for this year’s Republic Day parade. The tableau showcased foundational care, early education, and the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative.

Additionally, the rural development ministry’s tableau highlighted the Lakhpati Didi scheme, which has been helping self-help group members in rural India get a minimum annual income of Rs 1 lakh. The tableau showcased figurines of women performing tasks such as weaving, agricultural activities etc. and also had the statue of a Lakhpati Didi furnishing a bundle of money in her hands.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) contributed a 148 member all-women contingent at the Republic Day parade. The contingent was led by Assistant Commandant Aishwarya Joy M.

Second year in a row, the Delhi Police showcased its all-women band at the Republic Day parade 2025 which was led by Band Master Ruyangunuo Kense.

This year’s parade also had Senior Officer Ekta Kumari leading the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Girls contingent. The NCC Combined Band was co-commanded by cadets Madesh Ashok and Ankita Kumari.
