Union Women and Child Development Minister Annpurna Devi emphasized the importance of collective commitment to girls' education, safety, and empowerment on National Girl Child Day. She urged societal support to create an environment where every girl can thrive and fulfill her dreams, ensuring they feel free, empowered, and respected.
On her social media post, the WCD Minister wrote "On National Girl Child Day, I extend my endless good wishes for a bright future to all daughters. Let us take a pledge today to remain committed to the education, safety, and empowerment of our girls." She added, "Balika Devo Bhava: On this occasion of National Girl Child Day, let us resolve to provide every girl the opportunity to fulfill her dreams and create an environment where they feel free, empowered, and respected."
National Girl Child Day in India, initiated in 2008, aims to promote gender equality and address issues affecting girls' welfare. The 2025 theme is "Empowering Girls for a Bright Future," emphasizing the need for education, healthcare, and growth opportunities. Events like rallies, workshops, and talks raise awareness and promote the cause through social media campaigns and community initiatives.
