Reetu Gupta Joins Ownership of Toronto Tempo WNBA Team

Reetu Gupta, Chief Executive Officer and Ambassadress of The Gupta Group, is now part of the ownership group for Toronto Tempo, Canada’s inaugural WNBA franchise.

The announcement occurred in Toronto on November 18, 2025, was marked as an achievement for women to participate in sports investing and leadership.

The Reetu Group is managing more than $1 billion in assets and Gupta has been involved in developing more than 5 million square feet of mixed-use real estate

She has received several professional awards, including titled Woman of the Year by Glory Media and recognized two times among Canada’s Most Powerful Women by WXN. 

She participates in hospitality, real estate, venture capital, publishing, and philanthropy, has programming to facilitate women's economic advancement and includes micro-finance and mentorship programming for women in Egypt and mentorship for young women in Canada.

Reetu stated that the Toronto Tempo aligns with her priorities around leadership, inclusion, and sustainable impact.

The team, which is the WNBA's first outside of the United States, is expected to take the court in 2026. As part of her philanthropy, Gupta serves on the Board of the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation and as a supporter of TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival).

She observed that the Toronto Tempo may inspire more young women to consider leadership in sport and other areas.
