Reliance Brands Limited (RBL) has entered into a long-term franchise agreement with Max Mara Fashion Group of Italy to launch MAX&Co, a modern Womenswear brand, in India.
This collaboration will allow RBL to impart the MAX&Co. "fluid, juxtaposition" brand identity and assortment of stylish apparel and accessories to Indian consumers.
The first MAX&Co. store will debut in Mumbai in early 2026, followed by a rollout in other prominent cities shortly thereafter.
The retailer will carry the full collection of MAX&Co. offerings, including the popular "&Collaboration" capsules, which are characterized by innovative fabrications and trend-driven designs.
Isha Ambani, executive director of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, stated that MAX&Co. represents "a bold and modern understanding of femininity - bright, stylish, and unapologetically personal"; adding that an Italian character melded with a youthful spirit will be attractive to Indian women's evolving fashion sensibility.
India is "a dynamic, progressive market" that aligns with activity centered on imagination and self-expression, says Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti, Division Director - Brand MAX&Co member of the Board of the Max Mara Fashion Group. She reaffirmed the brand's intent to "empower women who are confident, curious and effortlessly modern."
MAX&Co. was established in 1986 and operates more than 400 stores worldwide. The brand is recognized for its Italian flair with a chic and relaxed look.
Reliance Brands Limited (RBL) was incorporated in 2007 as a subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL) with an objective of bringing international brands to India in the premium and luxury apparel as well as lifestyle segments.
RBL deals in internationally branded apparel, such as Armani Exchange and Armani Caffè. Reliance Brands Limited, as of today, has a chain of more than 1,590 stores in India, including standalone and shop-in-shop configurations.
