Breaking the Glass Ceiling

Breaking the Glass Ceiling

Women were never confined to the four walls. Our history has many examples of women who turned the time in their favour and created new antiquities. Their contribution from building homes to building nations still remains unparalleled. Making around half of India’s population, women have taken up roles in almost every industry one can think of, walking parallelly and at par with the men. Now remains no space for comparison! Women are all empowered and as knowledgeable, it’s only time we give them opportunity to showcase their talent & skill.

Even several reports claim that women are more efficient and possess higher leadership skills than men. Again, they only need a level playing field to present and use their ability to the fullest. Though their still remains gender biases, and mentality to take advantages, women have learnt how to deal with them and emerge victorious. Much should be attributed to their parents and families providing them the strength to deal with these and carve their own pathways to success since early childhood. I bet many of the successful women leaders would credit their success to their families and even for the life lessons learnt.

On the other hand, the government has also brought forward many initiatives to empower women and make them the wheel of success while contributing to the growth of the economy. Schemes akin to Mudra Yojana, TREAD, Mahila Udyam Nidhi, Annapurna, Stree Shakti Package for Women Entrepreneurs and many more even strengthening the roots in the rural areas. Corporate bodies like TiE & NASSCOM too have started several initiatives to boost the ecosystem for women entrepreneurs and make it more fertilize and easy. VCs too have opened up their funding for women-led startups and guiding them through their journey. With so much of help and guidance, only sky is the limit for them now.

To bring to fore such stories and the enthusiasm to make a positive dent in the industry while leaving footsteps for others to learn & follow, is the vision of our new magazine ‘Women Entrepreneurs – Women in Business’. We aim to provide a level playing field for them, bring their stories to inspire others and create an ecosystem that will contribute towards growth & empowerment of women entrepreneurs globally. Dedicating our first edition to ‘Top 10 Women Leaders in Interior Design – 2020’, we bring to you the story of some of the most influential names from the industry who have been creating world-class infrastructures while being that ray of inspiration to many to follow. Read to know more about them.
