Punjab CM Names Cricket Stadium Stand after Harmanpreet Kaur

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann honored people from Punjab who were a part of the winning Indian squad at the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup and dedicated stands at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium named after the Indian cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur and 2011 World Cup all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.
The state government handed out awards worth Rs. 11 lakh each to Harmanpreet, Harleen Deol, and Amanjot Kaur, and Rs. 5 lakh to Indian fielding coach Munish Bali. The ceremony took place before the second T20I match between India and South Africa.
AAP Punjab posted on Instagram that the players and coaching staff were honored at Mullanpur Stadium, and the stands dedicated to Yuvraj and Harmanpreet were also inaugurated.
Harmanpreet made 260 runs with two half-centuries in eight innings. Harleen added 169 runs. Amanjot scored 146 runs with six wickets and an important catch of South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt in the finals as India defended a total of 299 with a five-wicket haul and 58 runs from Deepti Sharma.
The performance of Yuvraj at the 2011 World Cup event also made it to the list. Yuvraj Singh notched 362 runs with one century and four half-centuries, taking 15 wickets with four Player of the Match awards and the Player of the Tournament award.
