Philippines Launches 2-Billion Peso Credit Facility for Women

By: WE Staff | Monday, 2 February 2026

  • The DTI offers a credit facility worth ₱2 billion to women entrepreneurs in the Philippines
  • The credit facility is more accessible through digital platforms
  • ₱2 billion allocated to the Women's Enterprise Fund (WEF) for 2026

The Philippines government has created a credit facility for women in SMEs which will provide them with a ₱2 billion peso loan facility for SMEs owned by women only, as well as make it easier to get loans from DTI-supplied digital channels for the women-owned businesses.

DTI will be using ₱2 billion from the SBCorp budget in 2026 to support the Women's Enterprise Fund (WEF) to assist WMSMEs that have plans to expand, create more jobs, and provide better living conditions for families as a result of their expanded operations and their contributions to the economy.

Ma. Cristina Roque, Deputy Commissioner for the DTI noted that DTI supports the women wanting local and international business growth by creating micro, small and medium enterprises with access to funds through the WEF (SBCorp) for women-owned MSME businesses.  She also stated that the WEF will help to bridge the gap for women in getting funds for their MSMEs.

With the rise of online platforms, the application process for the credit facility has become much more accessible to women entrepreneurs who can now access loans using their phones through the SBCorp Money app from Google Play or Huawei AppGallery and by accessing the website app.sbcorp.ph. With this change, it is much easier for entrepreneurs to apply for funds from home, their shops, or offices.

Women entrepreneurs are provided with the opportunity to stabilize and develop their businesses without monthly repayment of loan principal after taking out a loan.

With access to digital technology, flexible loan terms, and business-specific support, the Women's Enterprise Fund aims to position Filipina entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.
