PepsiCo's RevolutioNari Conference & Awards 2024 Honour Women Farmers

PepsiCo India launched the RevolutioNari Conference and Awards 2024 in New Delhi to promote women's empowerment in the agricultural sector. The initiative aims to empower 1 million women by 2026. The platform, based on women's empowerment in 'Partnership in Progress', celebrated the exceptional contributions of women.

The event was attended by dignitaries including Dr. Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Honorable Minister of State for Jal Shakti, and Smt. Smriti Irani, Former Minister of Women and Child Development. The event launched the RevolutioNari Anthem, a PepsiCo India initiative to empower women elevating their contributions to agriculture and positive impact. PepsiCo India and South Asia CEO Jagrut Kotecha said "Through our RevolutioNari initiative, which aims to empower 1 million women across India by 2026, we are driving tangible, positive societal impact."

Ten Indian women farmers were honored for inspiring others in the sector, selected after a rigorous evaluation by an external jury, headed by NITI Ayog, Member Prof. Ramesh Chand. The five respective categories and their winners are:

Breaking Gender Stereotypes & Implementing Best Framing Practices: Tapasi Pal secures Gold and Sanju Yogi got silver.

Economic Empowerment through SHGs: Ganpathi SHG secured Gold and Sarayan Farmer Producer Company Ltd. got Silver.

Innovation in Sustainable Agriculture: Shivani Kisku got Gold and Manguben Jaga was awarded Silver.

Protection and Promotion of Native Indigenous Food Systems: Monika Mohite secured Gold and Sujata Pramanik got Silver

Youth Innovators in Agriculture: Surbhi Kumari got Gold and Anima Aind got Silver

The RevolutioNari Conference and Awards 2024 attracted over 150 agri-sector experts, including policymakers, agronomists, and academics, to discuss gender equality, resilience, and climate-smart practices in agriculture. The event focused on targeted policies, financial inclusion, innovation, and technology to empower women and build a sustainable future.
