  • The initiative targets the acceleration of women’s leadership development
  • The aim is to build a community of women professionals across industries

Nippon Paint India (part of the NIPSEA group of paint based globally) has introduced a strategic initiative called HERizons to help develop female leaders across multiple industries in New Delhi India on March 27th.

This project will develop through partnerships among different sectors through the Delhi edition of HERizons, including a day-long local event featuring many female leaders in the fields of women’s development, education, and business under the theme ‘Painting New Possibilities.’

Sharad Malhotra, Managing Director of Nippon Paint India, opened the day with a discussion on HERizons and its goals and objectives, and how essential it is for companies to collaborate and engage with their female workforce.

HERizons is a platform for women to create ongoing opportunities to build and sustain leadership skills; additionally, it will empower women to become the next generation of change makers by providing long-term development opportunities in developing their own leadership skills.

Meenakshi Lekhi, former Minister of State for External Affairs, was the day’s keynote speaker; she served as a champion for women’s issues while she was in government.

The mascot for "Mission ShakthiSAT" was presented at the event to support “Mission ShakthiSAT” being an international platform to advance female development in the fields of space and Science.

The HERizons platform includes multiple components to help address three main goals: A HERizons Canvas is used to create venue(s) for creativity and storytelling (through and for women); HERizons Voices are to create opportunities for dialogue, thought-leadership and collaboration; and HERizons Next is focused on mentoring young female leaders.

The HERizons Summit introduced the first HERizons Achievers group, which were 18 women who have been awarded a HERizons Change-Maker Award and who are leaders within the fashion, design, real estate, infrastructure, education, arts, sustainability and social impact industries.

Nippon Paint India is using HERizons to integrate into their current business strategy to create opportunities for women leaders from all fields to collaborate and engage.
