New Platform Boosts Finance Access for Kazakhstan Women Entrepreneurs
By: Women Entrepreneurs Review International Team | Thursday, 6 August 2026
The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market has opened a national analytical platform for monitoring financing of women entrepreneurs, an important step in supporting women entrepreneurship, financial inclusion and economic empowerment of women. The platform is the first in Kazakhstan to offer an open and transparent picture of financial access for women-led businesses based on data.
The platform has been created Women Entrepreneurs Finance Program in the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). It aims to gather process and report financing data in a single system, to support the monitoring of financing trends for women-led businesses by the government, financial institutions and other stakeholders.
One of the key elements of the platform is the development of a new methodology that allows women entrepreneurs to be identified in the country's lending ecosystem. The Agency has now developed a system which brings together the information from the banks and the microfinance institutions, allowing for accurate evaluation of women's access to entrepreneurial loans for the first time. The data will be used to inform policy and financial programs to fill funding gaps for women in business.
Key Highlights
- Kazakhstan launches its first platform to track financing for women entrepreneurs
- The platform provides nationwide data on loans for women-led businesses
- The initiative aims to improve financial access for women-owned businesses
The platform provides details on financing through both banks and microfinance institutions and provides a comprehensive picture of credit provided to small, medium and large women-owned enterprises. Users can analyse lending patterns based on information about the size of the credit portfolio, quality of the credit portfolio, financing by industry and distribution by region.
The digital resource also offers information on the demographic and organisational profile of borrowers to help policy makers and financial institutions prioritise the sectors and regions in which women entrepreneurs have better access to finance and which need additional support.
The platform provides a single filter to enable users to create tailored reports by reporting period, size of business, business type and region. This allows stakeholders to gain a more detailed view of financing trends at industry and/or geographic level beyond national data.
The platform will boost transparency on the funding of women entrepreneurs and provide a more robust analytical basis for evidence-driven decision making, the Agency said in its announcement. It stated that data will be used to create tailored projects that will increase access to finance, promote women entrepreneurship development, and boost women entrepreneurship throughout Kazakhstan.
The Agency also announced the enhancement of the platform on a regular basis; data quality improvement and platform analytical capabilities expansion. These consistent efforts will help build a more inclusive financial system and increase women entrepreneurs' access to funding, growth and ultimately to participate in the economic development of the country.
Kazakhstan's initiative of compiling reliable data on financing for women entrepreneurs in a single platform marks a practical move towards boosting the support for women entrepreneurs and laying a more solid ground for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
