NeoGrowth Empowers 137 Underprivileged Women in Mumbai Through BFSI & Retail Skilling Programme

- The mission-driven NBFC NeoGrowth wrapped up a highly effective skill-building program in Mumbai
- The program's main goal was to improve participants' abilities in the retail and banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) industries
NeoGrowth, a non-banking financial company (NBFC) with a mission, has successfully finished a transformative skill-building program that trained and certified 137 impoverished women from the suburbs of Mumbai, including Kalyan and Nalasopara, in the retail and BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) industries.
The initiative, which was carried out in partnership with Times Employ India Foundation, TimesPro's CSR solutions division, allowed women from households below the poverty line to develop employable skills in retail sales and as Business Correspondent Business Facilitators (BCBF). Over 120 hours of structured classroom instruction, professional evaluations, and certification through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) were all part of the FY 2025 program.
The MD and CEO of NeoGrowth, Arun Nayyar, stressed that inclusive economic growth depends on women's empowerment. He emphasized the company's flagship CSR program, NeoShakti, as a long-term commitment to investing in women's entrepreneurial potential in order to foster sustainable impact.
In the upcoming years, Nayyar also stated plans to expand the program and strengthen community outreach. Crucially, the program went above and beyond training by guaranteeing 100 percent certification and starting initiatives to help participants—many of whom are joining the formal workforce for the first time—find employment.
According to TimesPro's President of Enterprise Business and CFO, Arun Kabra, the program is a prime example of how strategic alliances can help underprivileged women obtain comprehensive, placement-linked training. He emphasized TimesPro's dedication to developing impact-driven skilling initiatives that enable women to take part in the formal economy and act as catalysts for social change in their communities.
The program, which was implemented at Indala College of Engineering in Kalyan and a dedicated center in Nallasopara, addressed every facet of delivery with compassion and quality, from pre-assessment and mobilization to training and reporting. It also aligned with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDGs 5 (Gender Equality) and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
NeoGrowth staff members also contributed by conducting workshops on communication strategies, cyber safety, and workplace readiness that encouraged a shared accountability and community engagement culture.
An excellent illustration of how focused investments in women's skill development can have a lasting social and economic impact is this joint project between NeoGrowth and the Times Employ India Foundation. The success of the program is demonstrated by the 137 women who were trained, who are not only prepared for the workforce but also have confidence and agency.
