Nat Habit, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) natural personal care brand, is raising ₹142.6 crore ($15 million) in a funding round led by Trident Growth Partners. Existing investors, including Bertelsmann, Firstport and Linklight Ventures, are also participating in the round.
According to a regulatory filing with the Registrar of Companies (RoC), the company’s board has approved the issuance of 22.5 lakh Series C preference shares at ₹633.5 per share to raise the funds.
Trident Growth Partners will invest ₹91 crore, while Bertelsmann and Linklight Ventures will contribute ₹37 crore and ₹6.8 crore, respectively. The remaining investment will come from Mirabilis, Firstport and Dharmayug Investments.
Key Highlights:
- Nat Habit is raising ₹142.6 crore ($15 million) in a funding round led by Trident Growth Partners
- The company plans to use the funds for expansion, brand building and general corporate purposes
- Nat Habit’s FY25 revenue grew 47.2% to ₹106 crore, while its net loss increased to ₹29 crore
The use of proceeds of the fresh financing will be for general corporate purposes, expansion, brand building and other needs. Interestingly, Rs 2.6 crore out of the total amount collected will also go towards reduction in the ESOP pool.
According to estimates of the report, the value of the company at the time of the investment, which is popularly known as post-money valuation, was about Rs 800 crore. In July money control reported about Nat Habit's new funding.
Trident Growth Partners will have 11.44% of the company; and existing investor Bertelsmann will have 17.54% of the cap table. Prior to the fresh issue, the firm had 16% stake in the hands of Swagatika Das and Gaurav Agarwal respectively.
Nat Habit has changed its name to Breathe Life and repositioned itself from being an Ayurvedic company to a lifestyle company. It sells Ayurvedic Personal care products like shampoos, face wash and moisturizers.
The company is yet to file its annual statements for FY26. During FY25, its revenue from operations grew 47.2% year-on-year to Rs 106 crore, while its losses increased to Rs 29 crore in the same period.
Good revenue growth is offset by increasing losses in the company's financial statements. In its financials for FY25, Nat Habit reported revenue from operations of ₹106 crore as compared to ₹72 crore in FY24, while the net loss moved to ₹29 crore from ₹18 crore in FY24.
The company also invested in advertising and promotional activities, incurring total costs of ₹58 crore for the year. The high cost of advertising and promotional activities reflects the company's commitment to promoting its brand and expanding its market presence.
