Bollywood’s legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 in Mumbai at the age of 92. Her son, Anand Bhosle confirmed the news and shared that her last rites will take place at Shivaji Park in Mumbai today. As the nation mourns the heavy loss, the cremation ceremony will take place with full state honours in Mumbai.

On Saturday, April 11th, Asha ji was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital due to severe exhaustion along with complain of chest infection. With a career spanning over eight decades, she spent most of her life in the field of music and was well-known for her amazing vocal range.

As a younger sibling to melody queen Lata Mangeskar, Asha ji carved a unique image for herself and became a trailblazer in her own right. She forged an enigmatic artistic identity for self, ruling hearts of millions of people for years. At 91, she released the single track Saiyaan Bina, dedicating it to her late husband and frequent music collaborator, Rahul Dev Burman.
