● Amit Shah warned against election manipulation
● Modi raised concerns over corruption and law and order in West Bengal

As Phase II of the West Bengal Assembly elections draws closer, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the occasion to emphasize both a message of welfare to women and attack the ruling government of West Bengal, led by the Trinamool Congress party

Union Home Minister Amit Shah stressed that if anyone tries to manipulate the outcome of the elections, they would face severe consequences for their actions.

Modi spoke at various venues including Hooghly, Bangaon, North 24 Parganas, and via a road show in Kolkata to state that if elected, the BJP government will implement a mandate for 33% reservation of jobs for women in government positions and direct transfer of Rs 36 000 a year into women’s bank accounts.

“Empowering women is our top priority. We want to expand both security and opportunities for our sisters and daughters,” Modi said.
The PM also stated that about 7.5 million more women are eligible to participate in this scheme than were previously mentioned in connection with it and that they will be provided with an interest-free loan from banks providing up to 2 million of collateral upon establishing a successful business

There will additionally be benefit packages regarding many other items; Free health coverage of Rs500,000 will be provided through the scheme, which includes test and vaccination for breast and cervical cancer and Rs21,000 in aid for delivery, with a total support of financial assistance for the education of daughters of Rs50,000, provided by way of a second loan.

The PM denounced the activity of the current elected government's leadership and investigated some of their actions through comments made pertaining to the alleged coal scam. Citing the recent opinion of India's Supreme Court regarding interference with an investigation being an act contrary to the principles of democracy, he suggested to the public that this is why courts had taken a role in determining if the state's government was performing its duties.

The Prime Minister expressed that criminal acts recently committed at RG Kar hospital, as well as having acted on behalf of all eligible students, were proof that people no longer could trust any elected official in their state. Thus, he commented, this was an example of how far the states have deviated from their original purpose, so much that courts have needed to become involved.
“This government does not function from Nabanna. It either runs at the behest of goons or acts only after orders from the High Court and Supreme Court,” he said.
Modi also raised concerns over law and order, alleging repeated incidents of rape, murder and violence involving those linked to the ruling party.
