McDonald's India Appoints Mehak Jaini as Marketing Head

Mehak Jaini has been named as the new Head of Marketing at McDonald's India (West & South) running by West life Food world Limited, bolstering its leadership team as the fast-food chain extends its reach and interactions with customers in western and southern India. Mehak announced the appointment on LinkedIn and it has been confirmed by industry publications.

Mehak shared the news with LinkedIn where she said she was excited to join one of the world's most renowned consumer brands. The opportunity was both exciting and humbling, she said, and it's so critical to get to know the people and the processes behind the brand before developing a marketing story.

She shared, “I'm really thrilled, and I'm really proud, I'm really humbled, to share that I have joined McDonald's India (West & South) as a Head of Marketing (Westlife Foodworld Limited). Mehak also said that she was inducted into a business that she learned from the ground up and got valuable lessons in the operational excellence, which enables the McDonald's brand to run smoothly each day.

Mehak has a wealth of skills in brand strategy, marketing and communications with over 19 years of experience. Prior to her stint at McDonald's India, she was working at Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) as Global Brand Equity Lead – Personal Care and Global Effectiveness where she led the global brands' building effort and helped enhance marketing effectiveness for personal care brands.

Before joining GCPL, Jaini worked for nearly 16 years with DDB Mudra Group - one of India's top advertising and marketing communication services providers. While in the job, she served in a number of strategic roles such as National Strategy Head at 22feet Tribal Worldwide and Vice President – Strategy at DDB Mudra Group. She has a wealth of experience in brand planning, consumer insights, digital and integrated marketing in the context of leading national and international brands.

Mehak is an alumna of St. Stephen's College, Delhi and an MBA from one of India's top institutes in Strategic Marketing and Communications, Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA).

The move comes at a crucial juncture for McDonald's India (West & South), whose wholly owned subsidiary Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt. Ltd. owns and runs over 430 McDonald's restaurants in 69 cities across western and southern India, with a focus on deepening customer engagement through digital innovation, menu development and brand-led campaigns.

McDonald's India (West & South) has recently kicked off extensive marketing campaigns, such as its "Let's Family at McD" campaign highlighting the evolving nature of the family and the brand's successful 30-year presence in India. The company has also been expanding its restaurant presence and creating better customer experiences by offering various service models, such as McDelivery and McCafé.

Having extensive experience in strategic brand management, consumer insights and integrated marketing, Mehak is poised to be a valuable asset to the company's marketing strategy as it further consolidates its market dominance in the competitive quick-service restaurant segment of the Indian market.
