JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa has appointed Shagun Sethi as its new Director of Sales & Marketing, bringing more than 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, strategic sales, marketing, and business development. Her appointment strengthens the resort's leadership team as it continues to expand its commercial presence and reinforce its reputation as one of Thailand's leading luxury hospitality destinations.

In her new role, Shagun will lead the resort's sales and marketing strategy, with a focus on driving business growth, building strategic partnerships, and enhancing customer engagement across leisure, corporate, MICE, and destination event segments. The appointment reflects the resort's commitment to strengthening its market position while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Over the course of her career, Shagun has built strong relationships with multinational corporations, government organisations, diplomatic missions, global institutions, and high-net-worth clients. She has successfully led sales initiatives across more than 70 hotels in India, delivering consistent business growth across luxury leisure, MICE, weddings, diplomatic, and government segments. She also played an important role in supporting major international engagements, including the G20 Summit, while creating new business opportunities and strengthening long-term client relationships.
Before joining JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, Shagun served as National Sales Manager at ITC Hotels, where she became one of the company's top-performing Group Sales leaders for consecutive years. During her tenure, she accelerated national account growth, delivered the highest cross-property sales contributions across the ITC Hotels and Welcomhotel portfolio, and expanded strategic partnerships across multiple markets.
She previously held several senior leadership positions at ITC Hotels, including Head of MICE & Events and Sales Director for Diplomatic Missions & Government Bodies. In these roles, she successfully positioned ITC Maurya as a preferred venue for international conferences, luxury weddings, diplomatic delegations, and government events, further strengthening the brand's standing in the premium hospitality sector.
Earlier in her career, Shagun worked as Head of Business Development at Maxxfun Holidays Pvt. Ltd., where she managed international MICE and destination wedding portfolios while developing a high-performing sales organisation. She also served as Director of Sales & Marketing at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, contributing to the successful launch of the brand's first property in India through integrated sales, marketing, revenue, and distribution strategies that supported significant market growth.
Shagun began her hospitality career with Oberoi Hotels & Resorts as a Key Account Sales Manager before joining ITC Hotels as Assistant Sales Manager, where she established strategic relationships with national and international clients. She holds a Bachelor of Hotel Management from the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and an MBA from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad.
With extensive expertise in luxury hospitality, strategic sales, brand positioning, and customer engagement, Shagun is expected to strengthen JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa's commercial performance and support its continued growth across key business segments, further enhancing the resort's position in Thailand's competitive luxury hospitality market.
