- Jindal Foundation has launched the 4th edition of its flagship initiative ‘Yashasvi’
- The program focuses on empowering girls and women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds
- Yashasvi is one of the foundation's wider initiatives to spread social welfare and women's development
Jindal Foundation, the CSR arm of Jindal Steel, launched the fourth edition of its signature program, Yashasvi, with a mission to empower girls and women belonging to economically weaker sections of society. This time, the Foundation aims to empower more than 5,000 girls and women from Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh.
Under Yashasvi, chosen beneficiaries will get financial support to undergo vocational courses or academic programmes—general education or professional streams—at institutions of their choice.
Commenting on the initiative, Shallu Jindal, Jindal Foundation Chairperson, said, "We believe that empowered women are the pillars of a progressive society. With Yashasvi programme, we are investing in the future of young girls who can become change-makers in their areas. We are happy that this initiative has already benefited more than 11,000 women and girls." This year too, we are eagerly waiting to change numerous lives with education and skill upgradation.
Support will be available to deserving women and girls aged 16 to 30 from the three target states—whose family income is less than ₹2, 00,000 per year—under the program. Scholarships for fees will be provided to the participants so that they may overcome financial constraints and work towards realising their educational and professional aspirations.
