The lone female member of the nine-person team from the Indian Mountaineering Federation (IMF) and the Navodit Samaj Seva Sansthan who will climb the 7,077-meter-high Kun peak of Kargil is Ishani Singh Jamwal of Kullu. On September 20, the expedition is anticipated to make a return.
In order to empower women, the Chhattisgarh government is organising the trip in conjunction with the IMF. With Shanti Rai from Sikkim, Aarti Kunjami, Dashmat Batti, and Kalpana Bhaskar from Chhattisgarh, Anamika Bisht from Uttarakhand, Sabita Mahto and Mitali Prasad from Bihar, and Ishani Singh Jamwal from Himachal, this expedition team will be guided by Banshilal.
Ishani attributes her selection for this expedition to her coaches and parents. She completed all of her training and mountaineering courses at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports in Manali.
The local mountaineers, notably those from her home village of Pahnala, are overjoyed. Ishani's parents, Nalini and Shakti Singh Jamwal, expressed their pride at their daughter's accomplishment.
