Indian Junior Women's Hockey team lose 2-4 against Argentina in Four Nation's Tournament

The Indian junior women's hockey team fell short against Argentina in their final fixture at the Four Nations Tournament, losing 2-4. The friendly tournament held in Rosario, Argentina, prepares for the FIH Junior Women's Hockey World Cup later this year. However, Kanika Siwach continued her stellar form, scoring twice (11', 45'), but Argentina's early dominance proved decisive for the hosts.
Argentina started the match with three goals in the first quarter, establishing control. They scored first through Sol Guignet Gunazu in the 5th minute and Sol Ollala De Labra in the 7th minute. India pulled one back in the 11th minute through Kanika Siwach, but Argentina responded with a goal from Milagros del Valle Alastra, restoring their two-goal lead in the 13th minute.
Argentina extended their lead in the 37th minute through Maxima Duportal, while Kanika scored her second goal in the 45th minute. Argentina managed to secure a 4-2 victory in the final quarter.
Despite this loss, Team India shone throughout the Four Nations Tournament held in Rosario from May 25 to June 2, 2025. The team secured a win against Chile 2-1, with Sukhveer Kaur (39) and Kanika Siwach (58) being the goal scorers. Next, they enjoyed a victory against Uruguay 3-2 with Kanika Siwach's (46, 50) and Sonam's (21) goals maintaining the winning card. They claimed another significant victory against Argentina in a 2-0 shootout, with Lalrinpuii and Lalthantluangi netted in the shootout to secure the victory.
They lost the winning spree against Chile, suffering a 1-3 defeat in a shootout on May 30, 2025. Further, they claimed another significant victory over Uruguay in a 3-1 shootout on June 1.
