Indian Craft Collective presents women's involvement in crafts and art, and the handloom industry in India. This exhibition is to take place on January 10-11, 2026 at Safina Plaza, Bangalore.
This program falls under the Women Startup Program by NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore and supported by CSR Initiative by Kotak Mahindra Bank.
This two-day public exposition would give all a platform to bring together craft and design. Not to forget, it intends to promote sustainable practices and consumer consciousness too.
The Collective offers visibility and space for growth for women-founded and women-led companies, including but not limited to handloom weavings and DIY weaving sets, zero waste fashion, hand smocked children’s wear, art jewelry, and more.
This event offers a curated display of women-founded businesses that specialize in handcrafted goods with a focus on well-designed and well-considered reinterpretations of heritage crafts.
Visitors can engage with artists and learn firsthand about the hard work and history behind each item through a process described as supporting ‘the slow craft movement’.
The Collective is a part of the wider Women Startup Program offered by the NSRCEL and operates as a marketplace and platform for early-stage creative startups to find recognition.
The event showcases the transformation of traditional crafts to find relevance in contemporary society and the importance of sustainability, authenticity, and value in the context.
The Indian Craft Collective 2026 emphasizes the significance of craft and heritage as a driving force in the economy and as a creative source and the need for consumers to invest in the ventures of female entrepreneurs who offer cultural significance.
