- India will host Sri Lanka for a five-match women's T20I series from 21-30 December
- The first two matches will be held on December 21 and 23 in Visakhapatnam
- The remaining three matches will be played on December 26, 28 and 30 in Thiruvananthapuram
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that its Women's T20I (Twenty20 International) series against Sri Lanka will include five matches that are scheduled to take place in December from 21st through 30th across India.
Matches one through two will occur at Visakhapatnam and matches three through five will occur at Thiruvananthapuram.
Devajit Saikia has stated that match’s one through two will take place at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam while matches three through five will occur at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram (26th, 28th, and 30th).
This series follows the cancellation of Bangladesh's tour to India in December because of continuing tensions between these two countries. The original dates for the India Men’s series to visit Bangladesh were planned for September 2026, but have since been adjusted.
Visakhapatnam hosted two matches from the Indian women's national cricket team in the league stage of the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup against South Africa and Australia, and it hosted a ten-day training camp prior to the tournament.
This will be the first time women's international cricket has been held in Thiruvananthapuram, even though it has hosted men's international cricket matches previously.
India will be preparing for their first international assignment after winning the Women’s ODI World Cup title.
This competition is vitally important for India in terms of their preparation for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup that will take place in England from June 12 to July 5.
Following the T20I, India will host the 4th edition of the Women's Premier League from January 9 to February 5, 2026, in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara. The multi-format series against Australia will be held between February 15 and March 6 of the same year.
