Abbott India Appoints Vinutha M as Director of Business HR

- She has held numerous leadership roles within Abbott's pharmaceuticals and nutrition businesses
- She most recently led business HR for the specialty care portfolio
Abbott India has named Vinutha Mufti as its new director of business human resources, with effect from December 16, 2025.
She will replace Rajan Kalantre, who will take over a new role in another Abbott affiliate upon completion of his current tenure. Rajan will continue in his present role till December 15, 2025, to ensure a smooth transition.
Vinutha joined Abbott in 2015 as a senior manager in the nutrition business and, subsequently, she has taken on various leadership roles within the company's pharmaceuticals and nutrition businesses.
She previously served in various positions such as leading HR for primary care, associate director for nutrition HR, and most recently as the business HR head of the specialty care portfolio.
With more than 20 years in human resources, Vinutha's areas of expertise include client partnering, employee relations, performance management, consulting, talent management, and people development.
She has worked across a variety of industries, including IT, ITES, pharmaceuticals, and FMCG, helping leaders and managers address people-related challenges.
Prior to her joining Abbott, Vinutha had spent a decade at IBM, working on HR business partnering and talent management, having joined the company as an assistant manager–HR in 2005.
An alumna of the Goa Institute of Management, She has an engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunication. Abbott India's decision to promote an internal leader is part of its focus on grooming long-term talent to ensure leadership continuity.
With considerable experience within the organization and in various facets of the HR function, Mufti is positioned to lead initiatives in capability building, diversity and inclusion, and talent development.
