Star Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma fetched the highest bid in the Women’s Premier League 2026 auction.
Named the Player of the Tournament during the 2025 Women’s World Cup, Deepti was picked by UP Warriorz through the RTM card for ₹3.20 crore to be the second-highest-paid Indian player in the WPL after the RCB captain Smriti Mandhana.
Other top bidders included ODI World Cup performers such as Shree Charani and South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt. The Gujarat Giants purchased Sophie Devine, who did not feature in the 2025 season, for ₹2 crore. Mumbai Indians roped in New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr for ₹3 crore, making her the second-biggest buy of the auction.
Amelia was part of MI’s title-winning sides in 2023 and 2025. In one of the day's surprises, Australian captain Alyssa Healy remained unsold along with her countrywoman Alana King, despite King's seven-wicket haul the best figures in the recent 50-over World Cup.
Indian fast bowler Renuka Singh joined Gujarat Giants for ₹60 lakh, while UP Warriorz retained England spinner Sophie Ecclestone for ₹85 lakh through RTM. UP Warriorz signed the former Delhi Capitals player and Australian legend Meg Lanning for ₹1.9 crore.
Delhi Capitals added Laura Wolvaardt for ₹1.10 crore and later added Chinelle Henry for ₹1.30 crore and Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana for ₹50 lakh.
The list of prominent unsold players also included England's Heather Knight and Alice Capsey, New Zealand veteran Lea Tahuhu, wicketkeeper Amy Jones, Uma Chetry, South African Tanzim Brits, and S. Meghana.
