- Focuses on fostering entrepreneurial skills among army veterans and underserved communities
I Create India, a non-profit organization focusing on entrepreneurship development, celebrated its 25th anniversary with a Silver Jubilee event at the Manekshaw Centre Ashoka Hall in Delhi. Established with the vision of turning job seekers into job creators, I Create India has spent the past 25 years empowering individuals, especially army veterans and underserved communities, by nurturing entrepreneurial skills.
The Silver Jubilee event celebrated the success of over 25 army veterans who became entrepreneurs through the organization’s training and mentorship programs. A key partnership with the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV) has led to the creation of Business Incubation Centre’s (BICs) at 17 military locations across India. These centers provide veterans with the resources and support needed to launch and grow their businesses, helping them transition successfully to civilian life.
A key highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of I creates coffee table book, followed by the launch of How to Minimize Business Failure, authored by I creates Chief Mentor, Ulhas Kamat. The book offers practical guidance and mentorship for micro and small business owners, reinforcing I creates commitment to promoting sustainable business development.
The event was honored by Lt. Gen. Ranjeet Singh, Director General of Discipline, Ceremonial, and Welfare, who served as the Chief Guest. He recognized over 25 Indian Army veterans who successfully launched their entrepreneurial ventures after training with I Create. This recognition highlights the organization's dedication to supporting the 60,000 veterans who retire from the Indian Army each year, helping them leverage their discipline, commitment, and risk-taking abilities to achieve entrepreneurial success.
Harsh Bhargava, Founder of I Create India, highlighted the organization's continued dedication to tackling India's employment challenges: "For 25 years, I Create has been working to address India's employment crisis through entrepreneurship. Our army veterans use their disciplined approach to overcome business hurdles, our women entrepreneur’s uplift entire communities, and our youth embrace self-reliance to become job creators. As we celebrate this Silver Jubilee, we honor those shaping India's future, one business at a time."
The NGO also acknowledged the support lent by its key stakeholders. Sponsors including HCL Foundation, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Allianz, The Hans Foundation, and IndusInd Bank attended the Silver Jubilee event. The event also featured a documentary highlighting I creates impactful work, alongside the recognition of key donors, acknowledging their contributions to the organization's success over the past 25 years.
