Hubtown Appoints Vijayalakshmi Jayaraman Iyer as Deputy CHRO

Hubtown, a real estate company, has appointed Vijayalakshmi Jayaraman Iyer as its Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer (DCHRO). In her new role, she will contribute to the company's human resources leadership, drawing on her extensive experience in HR management, talent acquisition, employee engagement and strategic workforce planning. She joins Hubtown from Securities, where she served as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for more than three and a half years.

Vijayalakshmi began her human resources career in July 2005 at BIFM, joining as a Senior Executive – Human Resources. Within a year, she was promoted to Assistant Manager – HRD in July 2006. This early experience provided her with a foundation in HR operations and organizational management.

In November 2007, she moved to Labnics Equipment as HR Manager. During her tenure of less than two years, she played an important role in establishing the company's entire HR department.

She had to handle recruitment processes end-to-end and evaluate the needs of the workforce, both in the short, medium and long term, according to the needs of the business. She has also helped to create HR processes to suit an expanding operational needs.

Vijayalakshmi entered Indiabulls Real Estate in 2009 as Assistant Manager – Human Resources. There, she was conceptualizing the technical recruitment process, managing campus recruitment activities throughout India and employee engagement initiatives. Having worked in the real estate industry, she gained even more insight into workforce needs and organizational needs.

She was appointed as the head of the HR function at Nirmal Lifestyle in 2011 and worked there for over 11 years till 2022. She was responsible for strategic HR planning, recruitment, employee induction, networking, training and development, and handling employee grievances. Throughout her prolonged period, she helped with different parts of the HR practices inside the company, supporting employee training and performance.

Vijayalakshmi joined Securities as the Chief Human Resources Officer in December 2022 after a lengthy stint with Nirmal Lifestyle. She held the role for over 3.5 years and worked with human resource roles and introduced her HR expertise and people management skills to the organisation.

Vijayalakshmi has joined Hubtown as Deputy CHRO, and brings almost 20 years of professional experience across a variety of industries. Her career path highlights her experience in establishing HR functions, recruiting, creating workforce strategies and enhancing employee engagement.
