Hindustan Pencils Appoints Aishwarya Shinod as Head of Marketing

  • She will concentrate on enhancing her relevance and appeal to new-age consumers

The company which owns the stationery brands Apsara and Nataraj in India, ‘Hindustan Pencils’, has hired Aishwarya Shinod as its ‘Head of Marketing’.

Aishwarya will be mandated to lead brands and consumer marketing across the entire portfolio of the company, as it looks to maintain ‘relevance for newer consumer segments’.

She has almost two decades of experience in developing and growing consumer brands. Some of the key roles and positions that Aishwarya has occupied in the past include roles at Unilever, Nestle, Kellogg’s, and Freudenberg Gala Household Products. Some of the key areas of her experience include developing brands, marketing, and innovation.

While commenting on her appointment, Aishwarya said, "I look forward to building upon Hindustan Pencils' legacy while reinventing their brands for the next generation. I believe that with insight-led marketing, we can drive innovation and build a better connection with their customers."

In previous positions, Aishwarya has headed a number of branding projects, of which repositioning Pepsodent in South Asia at Unilever and the #WhyJustCleanHome campaign at Gala stand out, adding to the growth of the businesses. Other award juries that Shinod has been a juror at include the EFFIEs, EMVIEs, and Indian Content Marketing Awards.

Aishwarya has an MBA in Marketing from Pune University. In her personal life, she is interested in trekking and has done the Everest Base Camp trek.

Her appointment underlines Hindustan Pencils' commitment to emphasis-driven marketing. This strategy was adopted while taking cultural nuances in consideration.
