Google Doodle Marks Launch of WPL 2025 with Cricket Inspired Artwork

Cricket is deeply cherished by millions in India, and the Women's Premier League (WPL) has steadily built its own loyal fan base. As the excitement builds for the start of WPL 2025 on February 14, Google has joined the celebration with a fun, cricket-themed Doodle.

The Google Doodle features two animated birds playing a friendly cricket match and also included Classic cricket elements such as bat, ball, and stumps in the artwork.

The Doodle captures the spirit of the game by clicking on the Doodle leads to Google’s interactive ‘Mini Cup’ game, designed to celebrate the tournament.

In the interactive game, you play as a batter facing deliveries from a quirky bird bowler. By simply taping the screen to swing the bat and score runs.

Main goal is to protect your wicket and score as many runs as possible before the game ends. The game invites players to join fans worldwide and compete against a real wicket-taker.

The welcome screen text reads: "Ready to play in the Mini Cup? Join fans worldwide to protect your wicket and score runs before each game ends. Watch out! You’re up against a real wicket-taker.”
