Female Voters Dominate 4 Constituencies in Odisha's LS Elections

Women voters dominate four constituencies in Odisha's upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, marking the first phase of voting in the state and the fourth across the country. The constituencies are heading towards the polls on May 13 and the regions where females outshined others are Berhampur, Koraput, Kalahandi, and Nabarangpur. In these four Lok Sabha constituencies, there are 62,84,649 voters and out of those, 31,87,771 are women, 30,96,243 are male and 635 are transgender.

The increase in female participation showcases how actively they participate in the political process. Women's active participation in the democratic process is commendable and highlights the significance of their voices in shaping the nation's future.

In addition to this, different law enforcement agencies in the state have seized cash, liquor, drugs, and other items worth Rs 118.65 crores during the pre-election period that began on March 1 and is still in progress. The state excise agency recovered drugs valued at Rs 30 crore, while the police seized cash, drugs, and alcohol worth Rs 61.6 crore.

In these four Lok Sabha seats, 7,289 voting booths and 14 auxiliary polling stations have been set up and more CAPF members will arrive in the next few days. The C-vigil application has been used to monitor the actions and any violations of the election Model Code of Conduct as the state has received over 3,873 complaints about it.
