The Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) organized a unique appreciation ceremony for women entrepreneurs who showcased exemplary prudence and business success. Held at the head office of EBL in Dhaka on June 17, 2026, the occasion witnessed participation from selected entrepreneurs out of the list of 53 beneficiaries of the incentives.
The awardees were given incentives from the Bangladesh Bank through the Small Enterprise Refinance Scheme for Women Entrepreneurs on account of their excellent repayment behavior. The program reflected the increasing significance of women-owned businesses in economic growth and the need for prudent borrowing practices in the SME sector.
This event acted as a platform for recognizing the important role played by the women entrepreneurs in contributing towards economic development, job creation, and prosperity.
