In order to mark a major advancement in the direction of gender diversity in the logistics sector, Delhivery, a renowned logistics service provider in India initiated an all-women hub in Sikar, Rajasthan. The focus of this program is to increase women's participation in the logistics workforce and empower them in the industry which also supports the objective of Delhivery.
The center is located in Rajasthan's Sikar and the operations will be managed completely by the female employees. Delhivery acknowledges the advantages of having more women in the workforce. They directly improve production and efficiency while also lowering absenteeism and attrition. At the Sikar hub, women will be in charge of a number of tasks, such as security, operations, and administration. In addition to this, Delhivery offers a variety of options for women to work in non-traditional capacities, such as handling truck loading and unloading and operating battery-operated pallet trucks (BOPTs).
This program was followed by the surge in women's participation at Delhivery's gateways in Tauru (Haryana), Bhiwandi (Mumbai), and other parts of India. Notably, women at present make up 66 per cent of the workers at the Tauru processing center. In order to further encourage gender diversity and female empowerment in the logistics sector, Delhivery intends to open additional all-women hubs in the future.
