The India-Australia Women's Leadership Forum has been officially inaugurated by the Business Council of Australia (BCA) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The purpose of forming this cooperative project is to promote female empowerment and diversity in the workplace. The India-Australia Women's Leadership Forum aims to foster bilateral relations between Australia and India while focusing on the advancement of women's leadership in the business climate.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between CII and BCA that establishes this forum. India-Australia Women's Leadership Forum was formally launched in New Delhi and will be co-chaired by Viji Murugesan, Head of Scaleup Business Transformation at Tata Consultancy Services, and Ravneet Pawha, Asia CEO of Deakin University. CII and BCA as partners in the India-Australia CEO Forum aim to boost women leaders' participation, facilitate connections, share insights, and promote further engagement between companies and leaders.
Several leaders and delegates have shared their viewpoints and perspectives appreciating this alliance. Parimita Tripathi, Joint Secretary at Oceania, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India stated, "As we are emphasizing deepening people-to-people ties with Australia, this Forum will play a strategic role in broadcasting our economic and social relationship."
Bran Black, Chief Executive of the Business Council mentioned, "The BCA is proud to support the establishment of the Australia-India Women's Leadership Forum, and our members are committed to improving gender equality within their companies and supply chains."
The India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) has boosted economic ties between the two nations, with Indian and Australian companies trading at reduced tariff rates. The India-Australia Women's Leadership Forum aims to strengthen connections, share insights, and provide mentorship to future women leaders through workshops, mentorship programs, and policy-making exercises.
