Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, wished President Droupadi Murmu a happy 67th birthday and described her as a representation of strength, simplicity, and women's empowerment. "Best wishes and heartfelt congratulations on the Honourable President's birthday, Madam Droupadi Murmu ji," he wrote in a message on X. I ask Lord Badri Vishal to grant you a long, healthy, and prosperous life.

On July 25, 2022, Droupadi Murmu became India's 15th president. Prior to that, she was praised for defending democratic principles and advocating for tribal rights while serving as governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021.

Murmu, a member of the Santhali tribal community, was born on June 20, 1958, in Uparbeda village in Mayurbhanj, Odisha. Despite a difficult upbringing, she graduated from Ramadevi Women's College in Bhubaneswar with a degree, becoming the first woman in her village to do so.

She started out in the Odisha government as a junior assistant before becoming a teacher. She entered politics in 2000 and was an MLA for two terms. She also introduced people-focused reforms while serving as a minister in the fields of commerce and transportation, as well as fisheries and animal resources development.

She led with integrity while serving as governor of Jharkhand and worked to enhance the state universities' educational programs. Respected by people from all political parties for her inclusive leadership and commitment to public service, she became the first tribal woman to occupy the position.
