C. Vijaya Rajam Joins Yadagirigutta Devasthanam Board

The Telangana Government has formed a new Board of the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam in Yadagirigutta (Yadadri) with C. Vijaya Rajam, Managing Director of Metro India, as a nominated member. Under the leadership of M. Satyanarayana Reddy, the new Board has been given the responsibility to manage, develop and administer one of the most prominent temple institutions in Telangana.

The government order states that M. Satyanarayana Reddy, Chairman of the MSN Group has been appointed as an Chairman of the Devasthanam Board. Other members of the Board include Konidela Surekha, Vinod Venkataswamy (MLA), Vijayender Tulla, Pochaboina Eshwaramma Yadav, Gundu Mallaiah and Swathi Kantamani, as well as Dr. Lakshminarayana Naik (Founder Trustee) and C. Vijaya Rajam.

It is believed that C. Vijaya Rajam's appointment is recognition of her work in the corporate and social fields. She has been involved with various social, cultural and philanthropic programs as the Managing Director of Metro India. She has also participated in the religious and community works, such as the recent events held at Yadagirigutta temple.

In addition, the newly established Board has seven ex-officio members serving by virtue of their official position. These are the Chief Secretary to Government of Telangana, Principal Secretary, Revenue (Endowments) Department, Commissioner of Endowment Department, District Collector of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Vice-Chairman of Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority (YTDA), Executive Officer at Devasthanam and Sthanacharya/Senior-most Pradhana Archaka of the temple. They are included to facilitate coordination between the administration of the temple and the state government on governance related issues, finances and building up of infrastructure.

As mentioned in the government notification the Chairman and other nominated members (excluding Founder Trustee) will hold office for two years from date of appointment or till further orders. The government has also instructed the Executive Officer of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam to swear in the Chairman and the nominated members of the newly established Board and also give them the Oath of Secrecy.

The new Board is set in the midst of the ongoing efforts of the Telangana Government to enhance the governance structure of the temple at Yadagirigutta, one of the most important religious hubs of the state that has been undergoing a massive redevelopment process in recent years. The Board is expected to be instrumental in the betterment of temple administration, amenities for the devotées, development projects and in the conduct of transparent temple affairs following the provisions of the Endowments Act.
