BRICS CCI Awards Kalpana Soren for Empowering Women

- The recognition was given to her for her contribution to the upliftment of women’s empowerment
Kalpana Soren, the MLA representing Gandey, was awarded the Women Empowerment Trailblazers Award as part of the BRICS CCI WE Annual Women Summit and Award Ceremony.
The Women Empowerment Division of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry bestowed the award to her for her outstanding contribution to the cause of Women Empowerment.
While speaking on the occasion, Kalpana stated that the award represents not only her individual hard work but also the total effort of women from all over Jharkhand and across India.
She expressed pride that women are actively involved in many different fields such as business, sports, science, and innovation. She also stressed the need to elevate the voices of disenfranchised women and stated that there are numerous women entrepreneurs throughout Jharkhand.
Speaking of her recent visit to London, she said she interacted with students from Jharkhand studying in institutions such as Oxford University. She said she was aware of their academic aspirations and global perspective. She stressed that empowerment should be about equity and equal opportunities along with inclusivity.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren congratulated Kalpana on receiving the honor through a post on X. He said, “It’s recognition of women’s leadership and our initiatives towards women’s empowerment in Jharkhand.”
The event was attended by several public figures, including Meenakshi Lekhi, Raksha Khadse, Abhishek Singh, Sanjay Bhattacharyya, Rupinder Brar, Shabana Azmi, Bhumi Pednekar, Lebogang Zulu, Amita Chauhan, Margaret Coelho, and Sameer Shastri, along with international delegates.
