  • NATS is a Government of India initiative proposed in the Union Budget 2025

Bharti AXA Life Insurance has formally launched its new flagship apprenticeship initiative, BIMA BHARTI, in terms of the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS)—a government-supported programme proposed in the Union Budget 2025.

The national-level programme is aimed at providing positive skill-building opportunities to undergraduate as well as graduate students to enable them to gain training for a future career in the insurance sector. The program aligns with the overall mission of the corporation to promote youth employability and make a positive impact in national development.

Under this scheme, Bharti AXA Life has already recruited 200 apprentices and will recruit another 600, bringing the total number of 800 apprentices from all over the country. The scheme lays special emphasis on women participation, which will enable narrowing of the gender gap and encourage young women to opt for sustainable insurance professions. Apprentices will be given firsthand experience in major business activities like marketing, business development, customer service, and recruitment.

Speaking on the launch, Dhanashree Thakkar, Bharti AXA Life Insurance's Head of Human Resources and Distribution Training, said: "By partnering with the government apprenticeship scheme, we want to empower young professionals, shape their careers, and create a future-ready talent pool. Our customized onboarding and mentorship plans are designed to prepare them for decision-making positions in the business."

Through BIMA BHARTI, Bharti AXA Life reiterates its commitment to the vision of empowering India's youth and the mission of the Government of India for developing skills. Apprentices through the initiative will also be entitled to performance-based incentives that will assist them in increasing their income levels while undergoing training. As a Great Place to Work certified organization being one of the Top 25 in the BFSI segment, Bharti AXA Life provides a robust career development platform.

The apprenticeship will last six months, and participants will be presented with an official Government of India certification after completion—accepted by employment exchanges across the country.
