- Bata India has reshuffled its senior leadership team
- Sudakshina Ghosh appointed as Vice President – Human Resources, effective May 25, 2026
- She brings 18 years of HR experience across global organisations
Bata has recently revised its senior leadership team. Sudakshina Ghosh has been named Vice President - Human Resources, effective May 25, 2026, and is an important appointment, in addition to the departure of Senior VP - Merchandising & Replenishment, Uttam Kumar.
Sudakshina Ghosh has extensive experience in HR, having spent 18 years of working in human resources, with most of her HR time spent aligning HR strategy to maximise business performance and driving long-term organisational growth. Sudakshina was recently a Country HR Head for GSK Vietnam, where she was responsible for all HR operations in an international context.
Sudakshina has also held previous HR-related responsibilities within Asian Paints and GSK, where she progressively took on more senior roles with greater responsibility. Sudakshina has an MBA in HR, along with a bachelor's degree in engineering, and is known for developing high-performing, inclusive teams.
Kumar will step down from his position effective May 1, 2026, at the close of business hours. The company stated that his decision to leave is driven by the pursuit of opportunities outside the organisation.
The dual appointment of a new HR leader and the departure of a senior HR leader will help create a new leadership team at Bata while continuing to improve Bata's HR functions.
As companies re-evaluate their leadership structures to align to changes in their business, many companies are starting to have a senior leader leave his/her position at the same time as hiring a new leader.
