
36 New Officers, including 4 Women Join ITBP Ranks After Intensive Training

A new batch of 36 officers was formally inducted into the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) after strenuous training, waiting to be deputed in India's most taxing terrain. A passing out parade, organized on Monday at ITBP headquarters at Mussoorie, witnessed the formal induction of 27 Assistant Commandants, 8 Assistant Commandants (Medical Officers), and 1 Deputy Commandant into the organization.
Four women medical officers were part of the four new officers commissioned. The batch is multi-state, with officers hailing from states such as Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Bihar, and Ladakh.
Welcoming the officers, ITBP Additional Director General Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary congratulated them on their courage and determination. "They have passed through a rugged training course. When they are deputed on active duty, they will be confronting rugged terrain and high responsibilities. I request them to serve the nation with pride," he further said.
When training, the officers were instructed in various operations and administrative fields like combat skills, weapons management, physical fitness, intelligence, field engineering, and cartography, and also in legal and human rights issues.
The passing-out batch had a geographic spread that was wide. From 36 officers, 7 are from Haryana, 6 from Uttar Pradesh, 4 from Kerala, and 3 from Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi. Additionally, 2 officers are from Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Manipur, while Maharashtra, Bihar, Karnataka, and Ladakh have one officer each.
Passing out parade took place in front of ITBP Western Command Additional Director General Sanjay Kumar received the salute. Addressing the fresh commissioned officers, Sanjay welcomed the glorious history of the ITBP and emphasized the great hopes the force has for the new recruits.
He was assured that the stringent training would make them capable to face any test and dared the young officers to uphold the proud traditions of the force while embracing innovation. Model trainees were awarded the 'Sword of Honor' and other winner trophies for their excellent performance throughout the training.
