Key Highlights

  • Around 110 women entrepreneurs participated in the seminar
  • Digital marketing and e-commerce emerged as key focus areas
  • Government schemes and financing opportunities were discussed

P. K. Gupta, IEDS, Director, MSME-DFO, Cuttack, stated that women entrepreneurs are great pillars of MSME ecosystem in India during the program. The scheme was designed to build awareness of the schemes of the government, digital platforms, market opportunities and institutional support, he said.

By raising awareness about government schemes, online platforms, market opportunities, and institutional support, we hope to nurture their entrepreneurial spirit through Udyami Shakti,” P.K Gupta said. The program aimed to empower women entrepreneurs to go beyond starting businesses and sustain their growth, access wider markets and become more competitive by conducting technical sessions, interactions with experts and providing success stories, he added.

Dr. Sanjeev Mahapatra, Hon'ary Secretary, UCCIL said that this was done to bring the women entrepreneurs in contact with knowledge, network and opportunities to expand their businesses. He highlighted that although more and more women entrepreneurs are establishing and expanding businesses, lack of awareness about government schemes, digital platforms and market linkages can hinder their growth.

The seminar was therefore dedicated to branding, marketing and digital adoption and market access and provided entrepreneurs with the opportunity to meet relevant institutional support. Sanjeev explained that the event was a great platform for the women entrepreneurs to learn, interact, exchange their experiences and create valuable business networks.

Technical sessions focused on Digital Marketing, Market Access, Government Schemes/ Institutional support, platforms/institutions such as Meesho, GeM, ORMAS, MSME Schemes, SIDBI, PMEGP, National SC-ST Hub, ONDC etc.

The program also included anecdotes about women entrepreneurs who had excelled in their business, providing some practical insights into business development and growth. An interactive Q&A session also gave participants an opportunity to ask questions and receive practical tips regarding the market opportunities, digital platforms, financing and government support.

The initiative is also expected to expand its outreach across Odisha. Sanjeev said further programs would be undertaken in industrial districts including Jharsuguda, Jajpur and Sundargarh, extending access to knowledge and business opportunities for more women entrepreneurs.

The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Diwakar, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Cuttack.
