Women On the Rise: An Asian Perspective
By: Rachita Sharma, Managing Editor | Wednesday, 19 November 2025
The economic momentum across Asia is undergoing a gradual yet steady shift as women leaders usher in a new era of change. Women leaders bring in unwavering commitment and change through their unwavering clarity, strategy, and purpose. Roles that were once deemed traditionally male-dominated, are now being played by women owing to their gumption and expertise.
Measurable change in the region’s business and innovation landscape, speaks volume about the presence, grit and intellect of women leaders in the industries ranging from space technology to corporate law. In the current edition of Women Entrepreneurs Review we endeavour to highlight the professional journeys of successful women leaders from across Asia. One such leader is Mylene Oaña-Swarbrick, the Founder and CEO of House Land Development Corporation.
A visionary entrepreneur, Mylene leads a group of four interconnected companies, including a REMAX franchise, a construction firm, and Hexagon Land, her luxury housing brand, each serving a strategic role in her mission to build resilient, inclusive communities. Another exemplary leader featured on the list is May Ma, the Director of Allport Cargo Services USA and a seasoned leader in the logistics and supply chain industry. With over two decades of experience, she has played a pivotal role in transforming supply chain operations through innovative solutions and strategic leadership. We feature an in-depth interview featuring Cherry H.
Boekhorst, Principal of Lily Valley Preschool, a pioneering voice in Singapore’s early childhood education. Her journey began in 2004, when a personal experience as a mother drove her to open her first childcare center. Cherry has now become a respected advocate for child-centered learning, championing inquiry-based education, preparing children not just to memorize answers, but to think critically and ask meaningful questions.
Joining the august company is also Priya Sivakumar, a career consultant with Maiz Consultancy, Dubai, who merges psychological understanding with a student-centric approach in counselling individuals towards enhancing employability and finding fulfilling professional avenues. A home-maker turned HR professional, Priya has experiences of transformation and perseverance that inform her work.
These women leaders have mastered their respective expertise and continue to work towards continued success. read more about them and their professional journeys in the current edition of WER magazine. Do let us know your thoughts.
