Throw some light on the prior industry experience that you bring to the table. What are the key areas of expertise that you have developed over the years as a Dermatologist and Cosmetologist?

I have extensive experience from seven years of MBBS and three years of postgraduate studies, as well as working at various centers across the country, including hospitals and private practices. This diverse experience has been invaluable in establishing my practice, which I have been running for nearly eight years. Each day and each patient provides new learning opportunities, allowing me to keep improving. My main areas of expertise are advanced dermatological and cosmetic procedures like microblading, exosome treatments, and skin tightening. I actively participate in national and international conferences, both as a speaker and as a learner, to stay up to date on the latest advances and incorporate best practices into my treatments to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

Introduce us to Skinzest. Tell us about the key procedures that the clinic specializes in.

Skinzest is a premier dermatology, aesthetics, and plastic surgery center in Gurgaon that has been open for the past five years. Before founding Skinzest, I worked in a variety of hospitals and clinics. Skinzest's vision was to create a center equipped with cutting-edge technology and skin-care treatments while also providing patients with a trustworthy and comfortable environment. We offer a variety of procedures, including US FDA-approved laser hair removal, micro-needling radiofrequency scar treatment, non-invasive anti-aging treatments like Exilis skin tightening, and innovative treatments like exosome therapy and PDRN skin boosters. Our services range from basic medical-grade skincare to advanced cosmetic surgeries and anti-aging treatments, ensuring the best results for our patients.

In your opinion what are some of the most critical challenges you encounter in your current role at Skinzest? What steps do you undertake to overcome these roadblocks?

In my current position at Skinzest, I face several critical challenges. A major issue is the general lack of knowledge and awareness about skin problems and treatments. Many people view dermatological consultations as a last resort, often after self-treatment or consulting with unqualified individuals. This causes delays in proper care and complicates treatment. Furthermore, the proliferation of clinics run by unqualified practitioners poses significant risks, as incorrect treatments can result in serious complications. To address these issues, I prioritize patient education and use my clinic, Instagram, and Youtube channels to raise awareness. I also participate in National Dermatology Association programs focused on teaching the public, particularly in tier-II and tier-III cities, so that they may make informed decisions regarding skin care. Creating a motivated, like-minded team remains a challenge, which I approach by cultivating a shared vision, dedication to excellence and regular trainings.

What are some of the most critical professional milestones you have achieved over the years? What has been your success mantra over the years?

Admission to a reputable medical college and completion of my MBBS degree were significant professional milestones of mine. Passing dermatology entrance examinations and obtaining practical experience at numerous universities helped me improve my skills and establishing my practice, particularly during the pandemic, was a huge accomplishment. My success mantra revolves around continuous learning, resilience, and flexibility. Accepting adversities as chances for progress, upholding ethical integrity, and prioritizing quality care are critical and I prioritize empathy, respect, and teamwork to ensure high-quality services and patient-centered care.

Advice for aspiring women entrepreneurs/ business leaders: I encourage women to first and foremost believe in themselves. We often suffer from low self-esteem, but if we begin to believe in ourselves, the world will follow. It is critical to believe in your dreams and goals, and not allow anyone—whether family, friends, or partners—to reduce their significance. Belief in oneself is the first step toward achieving your goals.
