Women's STEM Challenge Opens in India

• It focuses on initiatives that cut across STEM, healthcare, and entrepreneurship

Women’s Leadership in STEM and Entrepreneurship Grand Challenges is a project that invites applications from women leaders engaged in innovative and sustainable solutions that exist at the intersection of STEM, health, and entrepreneurship.

The project is centered on supporting applications from women-led projects that combine science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, along with an entrepreneurial spirit that has the ability to tackle the most pressing challenges that exist within the space of health. The underlying purpose behind the project is the closing of the gender gap.

This challenge is eligible to women with projects in STEM areas and entrepreneurship as well as female entrepreneurs, researchers, and innovators with projects that will create a real positive impact on health issues to be scaled up.

The challenge is meant for projects in relation to health technology development, improvements in health access services, formulation of business models to be sustained, as well as addressing inequality in regards to STEM as well as leadership positions among females. An applicant should be in a position to showcase projects depending on project goals and strategies.

Selected participants will be provided support in mentorship and leadership development as well as access to partner and funder networks and innovation ecosystems to help advance their projects.

It is thought that it will make a difference in women leadership, health outcomes through innovation, as well as system-level outcomes in women innovators in the coming generations.
