Skill Bond which is a first-of-its-kind Skill Impact Bond has enrolled up to 18,000 first-time job seekers from families who have low incomes. During this enrollment, women who came from 18 states and Union Territories made up to 72 per cent of first-time job seekers.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship says that a 14.4 million dollar bond issued in 2021 is presently on set to meet its goal of educating 50,000 adolescents, 60 per cent of whom will be women, in order to help them find and retain their employment.
Only 10 out of 100 women engaged in skill-building programs remain to continue their jobs for three months, according to research, and the country's female labor force participation percentage has continuously been low at approximately 30 per cent. In order to promote an outcomes-based approach, NSDC and a coalition of partners introduced the four-year Skill Impact Bond in 2021. This was the first development impact bond created in India.
