Eco Uplift of Women Event Hosted by US Consulate in Kolkata

US consulate general Kolkata conducted a networking, earning, and sharing meeting at the workplace in the American Center, Kolkata. The event’s objective was to engage business leaders, change-makers, entrepreneurs and educators, and stakeholders in the economic empowerment of women across various regions of the world. The focus countries of the event include India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and the US for building regional coalitions and networks in South Asia.

Speaking about the objective of the event, US consul general Melinda Pavek said, “We will continue to contribute to the strengthening of this framework as a South Asian dialogue and look forward to regional synergies and collaborations.”

The US consulate general in Kolkata helmed meet was a part of the ‘Women Welding the Workplace’ project. It aims to create solution-based support networks to enable increased participation of women in the workforce.
