Women in Insurance India (WIIN), an initiative under the House of Grit Association, held its Second Annual Event at The Hilton Mumbai International Airport and announced the launch of India's first industry-specific WIIN Accelerator Program.

The WIIN Accelerator is targeted at mid-career insurance women, specifically those between 5–12 years of experience. This 12-week virtual program consists of facilitator-led sessions, live workshops, simulations, case studies, and self-paced learning.

The first cohort comprises 30–40 women drawn from across the insurance industry. A faculty of academic experts, industry leaders, financial advisors, and subject specialists delivers the program, with additional benefits that include six months of post-program mentorship, elective development tracks, and access to the peer network.

WIIN Co-founder Soni Srivastava called the initiative an effort to provide a platform by which women move forward and remain visible at mid-career stages. Co-founder Eima Azim said the program seeks to prepare women for leadership by strengthening their skills, networks, and strategic capabilities.

Several panel discussions took place at the event. The speakers were Dr. Lavanya Mundayur from Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd, Priyanka Uppal Anand from Zee Business, Sai More from Zurich Kotak General Insurance, and Shivani Burman Sharma from MediAssist Insurance TPA for the WIIN Talks.

The WIIN CXO Panel, moderated by Mandakini Balodhi from the Ministry of Finance, discussed the role of senior leadership in shaping the industry's and the societal impact.

Further panelists included Girija Subramaniam, New India; Shefali Sehwani, Lloyd's India; Surbhi Goel, Munich Re India; Ashish Parakh, Marsh India; and Kunal Khanna, EDME Insurance Brokers.

The event closed with the commencement of the WIIN Accelerator Program, WIIN Ignitor recognition and an honoring of volunteers and professionals contributing to the WIIN community.

WIIN India strives to advance equity-based leadership and cultivate a more inclusive and future-ready insurance industry by supporting the engagement and advancement of women.
