
Vizag to Host Five Women's World Cup Matches in 2025, Confirms ACA President

Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) President and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath have announced that Vizag has been given five Women's World Cup 2025 matches by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). These games are expected to take place the following year in September or October. Sivanath conveyed his joy, stating that Andhra Pradesh takes pride in hosting these significant international events.
Kesineni, who presided over the ACA General Body meeting on Sunday, also revealed that the organization intends to build a cricket stadium in each of the state's districts. Members talked about funding allocation, building new stadiums, hosting national and international matches, the proposed international cricket stadium in Amaravati, and other cricket-related issues in Andhra Pradesh during the meeting.
After the meeting, Kesineni, also known as Chinni, spoke to the media and reiterated his joy at Vizag's selection to host the Women's World Cup games. He disclosed that ACA already possesses land in the districts of Kurnool and Nellore, where plans are underway to build stadiums. He stated that the ACA has asked the State Government to provide 65 acres of land for the proposed international stadium in Amaravati. A facility that satisfies international standards is being planned.
According to Kesineni, the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has already been consulted by State IT Minister Nara Lokesh and ACA Secretary Sana Satish, and the BCCI has given its approval to the stadium proposal in Amaravati. The aim of constructing stadiums in each district was also discussed at the meeting, according to ACA Secretary Satish.
He added that local cricket has benefited greatly from the doubling of the district cricket associations' yearly budget, which went from ₹20 lakh to ₹40 lakh. Satish expressed gratitude to the BCCI for giving Andhra Pradesh five Women's World Cup matches and stated that more tournaments will result from the increased funding, which will help players gain important experience.
